Michael Knick began working at the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office in 1988 as an assistant state’s attorney for the Juvenile Division. From 1991 to 2004, he was assigned to the Drug Unit. In 2004, the State’s Attorney appointed him to the position of Drug Unit Supervisor, which later became the Organized Crime Unit Supervisor. He held that position until his retirement in 2016. During his career as an assistant state’s attorney, he successfully prosecuted numerous jury trials in narcotics, homicide, white collar crime, and other major felonies. During that time, he also gained experience in litigation involving search and seizure law. He has extensive experience dealing with issues involving search warrants, eavesdrops and other investigative orders.
